This is an exciting news.... All e-Safefood modules are now awarded with the EQAS-Food certificate for short courses. 



Do you know what EQAS award stand for ?


This is the European Quality Accreditation and Certification System for Food Studies (EQAS-Food).


What are its objectives :


The objectives of the EQAS FOOD CERTIFICATE FOR SHORT COURSES are :

•  To enhance quality and transparency of education and training in food science and technology 

•  To facilitate mutual transnational recognition of qualifications 

•  To facilitate the career progressions


The EQAS Food Certificate is awarded to short courses that comply with the document 'EUROPEAN QUALITY ASSURANCE FOR SHORT COURSES IN FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY: Procedures and Criteria'. 


What is the procedure ?


In the procedure of awarding the EQAS-Food Label, the EQAS Accreditation Commission has a crucial role. It consists of ten members of whom seven are academics (covering the different disciplines of Food Science and Technology), two representatives from industry and one student.


The assessment of the quality of food science and technology related courses is done by minimum one expert based on the trainer competences and on the coherence between objectives, syllabus, teaching methods and assessment according to the European guidelines (European Standards and Guidelines of ENQA).
